India's finance minister has urged the International Monetary Fund to take a leading role in harmonising global regulation of crypto assets
According to The Times of India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman discussed crypto asset regulation with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New Delhi on September 8, Nirmala Sitharaman urges that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) should play a leading role in synchronising global coordination on crypto asset regulation. She also revealed that India would introduce a new data privacy bill "sooner or later", having received assurances from IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
