China's Shandong police cracked a "virtual currency investment" fraud case and arrested two suspects

BlockBeats news, on September 10, according to the Qixia Public Security WeChat account, Cuiping Police Station received a report from Ms. Cui on August 30, saying that she was defrauded of 340,000 yuan by investing in a virtual currency online. After receiving the report, Cuiping Police Station and the Anti-Fraud Center of the Criminal Investigation Brigade immediately launched an investigation and urgently stopped and froze the accounts involved.


After investigation, the police learned that Ms. Cui added a "friend" on the Douyin app. The "friend" told her that investing in virtual currency could get high returns. Ms. Cui believed it and transferred a total of 340,000 yuan before being blocked by the "friend".


The police analyzed and judged the clues such as the relevant accounts and transfer records provided by Ms. Cui, looking for a breakthrough in the case, and successfully locked the suspects as Li and Yang. After further analysis and judgment, the police found the activity tracks of the two suspects. At about 8 o'clock that night, the police quickly attacked and arrested the two near the Cultural Square.


After interrogation, the suspects Li and Yang confessed to the crime of posting false investment information online to commit fraud. At present, the suspects Li (male, 22 years old) and Yang (male, 27 years old) have been detained according to law, and the case is under further investigation.
