BlockBeats News, December 30th, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted on social media, saying, "Don't believe FUD. Competitors are just eager to make you believe things that don't exist. USDT is safe."
BlockBeats previously reported that the Tether CEO retweeted a tweet hinting that USDT would not be deemed illegal in Europe on December 30th.
It is reported that the final draft of the MiCA Prudential Technical Standards was released in June of this year, and USDC was announced to be MiCA compliant stablecoin in early July. However, currently Tether's USDT does not comply with the MiCA regulatory standards. Eurozone-compliant trading platforms, including Coinbase, announced a temporary suspension of USDT support in December. In addition, Tether also announced a few days ago the suspension of its existing Euro-backed stablecoin EURT.
It is worth noting that Tether itself has not experienced any financial issues or engaged in any illegal activities. Tether will focus on supporting new stablecoin projects, such as launching stablecoins EURQ and USDQ that comply with the MiCA standards.
