On December 31, 2024, the Seoul Western District Court issued an arrest warrant for suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of inciting insurrection and abusing power. This is the first time in South Korea's constitutional history that an incumbent president has been issued an arrest warrant. The arrest warrant is valid until January 6th.
