Interagency Standoff Between Prime Minister's Security Detail and Presidential Guard Continues with No Incidents of Arrest of Officials Disrupting Duties

BlockBeats News, January 3rd, the standoff between the South Korean public prosecutor's office and the presidential guard is still ongoing, and there have been no arrests of individuals obstructing the execution of official duties.


Earlier today, the South Korea High-Ranking Public Officials Crimes Investigation Department set out to execute the arrest warrant for suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol. On December 31, 2024, the Seoul Western District Court issued an arrest warrant for suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of inciting insurrection and abuse of power. This is the first time in South Korea's constitutional history that an incumbent president has been issued with an arrest warrant. The arrest warrant is valid until January 6th. (Jin10)
