BlockBeats News, January 7th: A cryptocurrency forum administrator who is a father of four claimed that he was forced to go into hiding with his family after becoming the target of an attempted kidnapping. This Canadian man stated that the attackers intended to torture him and mistakenly believed he held a significant amount of Bitcoin.
To protect the identities of his children, the Canadian man did not disclose his name. The police informed him that they could not guarantee the safety of his family and advised them to relocate, as the alleged attackers may be linked to organized crime. Subsequently, this family decided to continuously change Airbnb accommodations, relying on savings to sustain themselves.
Two adults have been arrested and face charges of kidnapping conspiracy and illegal firearm possession. Two juvenile suspects have also been apprehended. However, the alleged attackers have no criminal record, have been placed under house arrest, and await trial in March, causing the family to feel concerned for their safety. (The Block)
