Russian Diamond Mine Employee Sentenced to Prison for Sending Cryptocurrency to Ukrainian Armed Militants

BlockBeats News, January 15th, an employee of a Russian diamond mining company was sentenced to prison for "providing economic assistance to a Ukrainian terrorist organization" through sending cryptocurrency.


The man is a male resident of the Yakutmirninsky District (Sakha Republic, Russian Far East). He was arrested by the Sakha Republic branch of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). The FSB stated that the man "repeatedly used cryptocurrency to transfer funds to Ukrainian armed militants," and that this organization used the funds "to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities against the Russian Federation's security."
