Trump: "Likely" to Grant TikTok 90-Day Extension on Inauguration Day

On January 18th, U.S. President-elect Trump stated in an interview with NBC that he is "highly likely" to grant a 90-day extension to the short video social media platform TikTok on his first day in office on the 20th to temporarily avoid its ban in the United States.

Trump stated that although no final decision has been made, he is considering asking TikTok's parent company ByteDance to postpone the deadline for selling TikTok to a non-Chinese company by 90 days. He said this is one of the options under consideration, and "extending it by 90 days is the most likely, as it is appropriate."
