BlockBeats News, January 21st, according to Bitcoin News, concerns are growing within the Ethereum ecosystem about its development speed. Jesse Pollak, head of Base, criticized Ethereum's current roadmap as overly conservative and called for the planned 2027 update to be moved up to early 2026.
Ethereum Foundation developer Dankrad Feist also shares a similar view, stating that the current growth plan lacks ambition and pointing out issues in the existing upgrade process. Feist also questioned the view that scalability can only be achieved on layer 2 networks, emphasizing that significant on-chain scaling for Ethereum is feasible.
Meanwhile, competitor Solana is attracting new users with a different scaling approach, especially after former President Trump and the First Lady launched a meme coin.
