BlockBeats News, January 23rd, according to CNBC, sources revealed that before officially taking office as president, Trump had a lengthy conversation with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to discuss the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the necessity of developing this technology in the United States.
In last Friday's discussion, Trump was particularly eager to promote the development of AI domestically in the United States rather than letting it flourish in other countries. He explored what this could mean for job creation and public confidence during his administration.
After being officially sworn in on Monday, Trump quickly began advocating for the importance of AI. On Tuesday, he announced a joint initiative to invest billions of dollars in American AI infrastructure in collaboration with OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank.
Of note is OpenAI's involvement, which is especially noteworthy as Altman is currently engaged in a fierce legal battle with Musk. Musk, who is an advisor to Trump and one of the main financial supporters of his 2024 re-election campaign, is also a co-founder of OpenAI established as a non-profit in 2015.
