BlockBeats News, January 30th, according to the New York Post, staunch cryptocurrency critic and former Democratic Senator from New Jersey, Bob Menendez, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for corruption.
This New Jersey Democrat, who was once the chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, tearfully begged the court for "forgiveness" after being convicted of exchanging cash, gold bars, and even a Mercedes convertible in exchange for providing benefits to foreign governments and businessmen.
Bob Menendez has previously claimed that Bitcoin (BTC) is "the ideal choice for criminals."
