BlockBeats News, March 8th, CZ shared his thoughts on the tokenization of KOL time in a post on the Binance Square.
“Time tokenization, that is, KOL tokenizing their time, has recently reemerged. Despite various past attempts, it has not yet succeeded. What I have always wanted to do is not time but coverage. LinkedIn, X both provide this feature, but the threshold is too low, leading to a lot of junk information that cannot be used.
This is an idea for a platform that allows serious individuals to connect with others. Celebrities (KOL) link their X (or LinkedIn) to the platform, verifying their identity. Then, they set a price for people to send them messages, such as 1 or 0.1 BNB. Anyone can first pay a certain amount to send him/her a message. If the KOL does not reply within 5 days, 50% of the payment made will be refunded to the requester. The requester still needs to pay, which can prevent spam and encourage them to write messages effectively. KOL will be incentivized to respond. Their reward will be increased by 50%.
I would use such a platform. I would donate any received cryptocurrency to charity. This helps filter out those who genuinely want to contact me. When the other party has something serious to offer, I may move the conversation off the platform, refund the payment, or even offer a bounty (for security tips, etc.). Then, I will be able to open my DMs to everyone and adjust the price over time based on my unwelcomeness.
This model does not solve all problems. Without arrogance, I imagine many scammers would be willing to pay 1 BNB to contact me.
YZiLabs may invest in a project that develops a good MVP using BNB/BSC as the primary payment option. This should take a few days/a week of coding and security review. If the platform is secure enough, I will be the first user.”
