2025-03-09 08:44

BlockBeats News, March 9, according to Crypto.news, International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino has expressed consideration for launching a cryptocurrency belonging to FIFA. During the White House cryptocurrency summit hosted by President Trump on March 7, Infantino conveyed the interest of the international football governing body in creating a crypto token to interact with global fans. Infantino stated, "FIFA is very interested in developing a FIFA token, starting here, starting in the United States, conquering the 5 billion football fans globally, conquering the world of football." Although specific details or a timeline have not been disclosed, the statement suggests that FIFA is exploring blockchain technology as a potential avenue to attract fans and generate revenue. Trump responded to this by saying, "The value of this token could eventually exceed that of FIFA. In fact, it could be a quite valuable token."

International Federation of Association Football is preparing for the 2026 World Cup, where the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the World Cup. Following the conclusion of the White House cryptocurrency summit, the price of the fake "FIFA" token surged by 357,000% in a single day, reaching a market cap of approximately $8.2 million; however, there is currently no official token launched in the market.
