BlockBeats News, March 29th, according to CNBC reports, President Trump has pardoned the three co-founders of the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX.
These three co-founders — Arthur Hayes, Benjamin Delo, and Samuel Reed — had previously pleaded guilty to a series of federal criminal charges related to money laundering and operating an unregistered money transfer service.
Reed pleaded guilty in 2022 to violating the Bank Secrecy Act and agreed to pay a $10 million fine. Prosecutors had previously alleged that these individuals effectively operated BitMEX as a “money laundering platform” and described their claims of exiting the U.S. market as “false.”
