BlockBeats News, April 5th, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun's crewed Dragon spacecraft has successfully landed, with an official congratulatory post from SpaceX, "Welcome back to Earth."
SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft began its sixth crewed space mission (Fram-2) on April 1st, marking the world's first crewed mission to a polar orbit. The spacecraft was launched from Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. The mission involved 4 astronauts: F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun, Janick Michelsen, Labiba Roeg, and Anerik Phillips. Wang Chun's team privately funded nearly $200 million for this mission, making it the first privately contracted polar orbital mission in commercial spaceflight history. Wang Chun served as the mission commander. The spacecraft will enter a polar orbit with an inclination of 90° and an orbit altitude between 425 and 450 kilometers. It will traverse the polar orbit, flying from over the South Pole to the North Pole and back, in a repeated pattern.
