New York Attorney General Writes to Congressional Leadership, Urging Advancement of Digital Asset Regulatory Framework

2025-04-11 00:44

BlockBeats News, April 11th, FOX reporter Eleanor Terrett posted on social media, stating, "New York State Attorney General Letitia James wrote to congressional leaders, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and House Minority Leader, urging them to pass a federal digital asset regulatory framework to mitigate the risks of fraud, criminal activity, and financial instability."

She stated that the widespread adoption of Bitcoin threatens the dominance of the US dollar and called for stablecoins to be "localized" (i.e., promoted for domestic development) to protect the US dollar's dominance. James also opposed allowing digital assets to be included in retirement accounts."
