BlockBeats News, April 25th, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, that the Chinese startup behind Manus AI has raised $75 million in a funding round led by the U.S. venture capital firm Benchmark.
According to the report, this round of funding also included participation from existing investors, increasing the startup's valuation fivefold to nearly $500 million. The company, named the "Butterfly Effect," reportedly plans to use this funding to expand into markets such as the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.
In March of this year, Manus released a general AI agent capable of tasks such as resume screening, itinerary planning, and stock analysis, attracting widespread attention. The company claims that the agent outperformed OpenAI's recently launched Deep Research tool in multiple metrics.
According to Bloomberg citing Chinese media reports, Manus had previously raised over $10 million from investors such as Tencent, ZhenFund, and HSG.
