BlockBeats News, April 29th — Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted, stating that the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has set two core goals: the primary goal is to increase Ethereum's usage, with a particular emphasis on users truly benefiting from Ethereum's underlying properties; the secondary goal is to comprehensively enhance Ethereum's resilience and decentralization, with a focus on identifying and addressing potential weak points across the technology stack.
Crypto mining firm Riot Platforms' VP of Research, Pierre Rochard, expressed skepticism about this. Rochard pointed out that the two goals proposed by the Ethereum Foundation, "increase Ethereum's usage" and "enhance Ethereum's decentralization and resilience," do not help increase the value of ETH, as Ethereum's usage can be achieved through wBTC or USDT. He believes that these goals are partly foundational clichés and partly superficial. As an alternative, Rochard suggested that the Ethereum Foundation should conduct an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the NASDAQ stock exchange and execute an ETH treasury strategy through convertible bonds.
