Recently, the blockchain security service suite @mywebacy contacted me, hoping that I could write a project introduction for them to let more people experience their products. Coincidentally, the various NFT communities are also high-risk areas for security issues, so I conducted some research and testing on Webacy.

According to a report by @CoinDesk, Webacy completed a $4 million financing round in February of this year, with Japan's Web3 Fund gmjp leading the investment and our old friend @garyvee also participating. Here is the link to the report. You can also check out the news report by @BlockBeatsAsia.

After learning these basic information, and seeing that Webacy's official Twitter account includes followers such as ZenAcademy, Beosin, Slowmist, Andre Wang, Unstoppable Domains, I decided to try out their product. (There are too many scammers in this industry, and I receive many private messages every day asking me to try out GameFi projects...)

Webacy has four main functions: risk rating, wallet monitoring, one-click asset transfer, and encrypted asset will.

Function One: Risk Rating

Webacy will evaluate every transaction of the wallet through its algorithms, machine learning models, and blockchain security data, and calculate the risk index of the wallet comprehensively. You can click to expand the details of each transaction to see specific issues.

However, during my usage experience, there were occasional misjudgments in this process, such as identifying BAYC and Art Blocks as Fake Tokens and marking them as "high risk". Therefore, Webacy still needs to continue improving in this aspect.

Function 2: Wallet Monitoring

After enabling this function, your registered email will receive a reminder email within 60 seconds of each transaction made by the wallet. If you have a US or Canadian mobile phone number, you can also choose to receive SMS notifications.

From my personal experience, the feeling is quite good. I can receive notifications for both incoming and outgoing transactions, and I can receive notifications in the pending state. This way, if someone steals my assets, I can receive a reminder in the first time and use the next function of Webacy to respond.

Function Three: One-Click Asset Transfer

This feature is probably the most critical one in my experience. When my partner's wallet was stolen, he had to seek help from a technical KOL to learn how to write code and deploy contracts to save the assets in his wallet. The whole process was complex and thrilling. Webacy provides a no-code solution for this process.

You only need to prepare a backup wallet in advance and add it to Webacy. Then, select the assets you want to protect. Be careful not to select phishing assets that hackers send to your wallet. One area where Webacy needs to improve is the ability to select NFTs from the same collection with just one click. Currently, it is a hassle to select them one by one.

After your wallet is attacked, you can directly click the "Panic Assets" button on the Webacy webpage to transfer the previously selected protected assets to a backup wallet.

Note: When you use this function, 1% of ERC-20 tokens will be automatically extracted as a handling fee.

Function 4: Encryption Asset Will

This feature is quite interesting. You can set to distribute the assets in your encrypted wallet to different accounts. After completing the steps on the website, the will is activated. If there is no transaction in the wallet for 12 months, the user will be contacted through the reserved contact information. If there is still no contact within two months, it will enter the estate distribution period. The beneficiary will have 12 months to claim the inheritance, and unclaimed assets will be transferred to the recovery pool.
