Axelar MDS is the first blockchain solution that allows dApps to easily connect with any user and operation logic on the Internet while maintaining verification and end-to-end open source properties. This open set of tools and protocols unlocks a new full-chain design space, where applications can easily connect users and logic from all over the Internet, always maintaining end-to-end verification and open properties.
With Axelar MDS, the possibilities of blockchain go far beyond simple bridges or oracles. Users can send a message on Telegram to rebalance insurance vaults on Sui, and vaults can also interact with DeFi protocols on Arbitrum and private blockchains of financial institutions. This level of integration and interoperability opens up a new world of possibilities for decentralized applications.
“One connection, unlimited possibilities.”
The three main components of Axelar MDS are:
Interchain Amplifier: Now live on mainnet. It is a simple and permissionless way to connect your chain with the Axelar Network and its interconnectors. It supports dynamic, customizable integrations, and chains such as Sui, Aptos, and Solana are ready to connect.
Interchain Token Service (ITS): This is an institutional-grade set of tokenization tools that completely replaces traditional bridges, making it possible to mint and manage tokens on any connected blockchain. With ITS, tokens are able to move natively across chains while maintaining their full functionality and fungibility.
Axelar Virtual Machine (AVM): Supports inter-chain amplifiers and ITS, making it possible to enable smart contract logic across the chain layer. This opens the door to a new generation of multi-chain development tools and complex dApps. Ethereum introduced programmable money; Axelar introduces programmable interoperability.
Combined with these additional features, Axelar has created the most complete interoperability platform on the market:
Flexible, Enhanced Economic Security: A layer of customizable security is provided for interchain amplifiers via ETH (via EigenLayer) and other exogenous collateral. The system allows custom security configurations to be set for new integrations, further enhancing its flexibility.
Open Interoperability Interfaces: Built in partnership with OpenZeppelin and integrated into OpenZeppelin’s leading smart contract library. Developers adopting these open source semantics can easily plug in any interoperability technology, further improving the ease and compatibility of development.
