When you click on this article, you may have two reactions - the editor returned from UC? The editor's hand was shaking and he typed it wrong? However, the story I want to tell you this time is exactly the same as the title. This magical story happened last Sunday.
Last Sunday, November 3, at 5 am, the founder of Ordinals & Rune Protocol, @rodarmor, published a tweet with only three short sentences.
Before he gave further hints, many players in the comment area had already realized that this was a puzzle game with a time limit of 8 hours, which was also the last sentence of the tweet. And the prize is the first sentence of the tweet, "cactusseeds".
Let's introduce the prize first. "cactusseeds" is one of the sub-collections of "Dia De Pixales" of Inscription No. 0 (the first inscription since the birth of the Ordinals protocol) engraved by Casey himself. "Dia De Pixales" is Casey's original art series. On Casey's personal webpage, we can see "Dia De Pixales" being displayed on it.
It can also be said that "cactusseeds" is the sub-inscription of Inscription No. 0, that is, the grandson inscription. From the figure below, we can see how the "father-son inscription" mechanism builds an NFT collection completely on the chain in a decentralized way on Bitcoin without smart contracts.
The top inscription here is the No. 0 inscription. For other projects, it can also be a TXT text inscription to indicate the name of the collection. The second-level inscription can be the collection's logo. The second season inscription here is actually a GIF animation, which rotates and displays the 9 "skulls" of the "Dia De Pixales" collection, and the last layer of inscriptions is a specific picture of each NFT content. Through such a step-by-step connection, even if there is no collection on the trading market, an NFT collection can be very intuitively sorted out on the chain and presented to users.
As for why this Sun Mingwen is called "cactusseeds"? You have to ask Casey. However, here we can also see how to name a specific single NFT in the collection, that is, to intentionally find a Cong with a corresponding name.
Let's get back to the point. The question is, what is the second sentence of the puzzle, "25138 / 29746"? 6 hours later, at 10 am, Casey gave the answer:
The answer has been solved here-"25138 / 29746" is a set of Minecraft coordinates, find Casey in the 2b2t server! Casey himself then made it clear: The first one to find me, "cactusseeds" is yours This is not an easy task. 2b2t, known as the "oldest anarchic Minecraft server". This server, founded in December 2010, is known for its ruleless and extremely destructive subculture. The extreme destruction brought by complete freedom makes 2b2t a "beautiful hell". For new players who enter 2b2t for the first time, it is difficult to just leave the "rebirth area", let alone go to the coordinates specified by Casey. These difficulties include but are not limited to - the "rebirth area" has been severely damaged and is full of traps left by old players.
- You need to collect enough resources to go to the coordinates specified by Casey, otherwise you will "starve to death" before you reach the halfway point.
- There may be old players constantly bullying new players in the "rebirth area".
Take a look at the rendering of the "rebirth area" below. This picture is 4 years ago. The "rebirth area" is full of magma and resources are extremely scarce. It can be called "hell"...
Nearly an hour later, the winner was born, @Rhynohowl1 became the first person to find Casey on the 2b2t server, and Casey immediately transferred "cactusseeds" to him.
In fact, it may have taken this player less time to find Casey, because it is certain that he did not know what Ordinals were before, and he may not even be a Crypto player. These are all conclusions and inferences drawn from the content of his tweets, because after he called the "cactusseeds" he got "NFT", Ordinals players corrected him in the comment area-this is not NFT, it is an inscription! In addition, his past tweets are also very few, and there is no content related to Crypto at all.
He also sent a tweet to respond to the comments of Ordinals players - sorry, not NFT, but Ordinals
How did such a person know that Casey was giving away such important inscriptions? Was it "rat trading"? No, no, no, because the information was passed to a streamer named riths who only broadcasts on the 2b2t server.
Then why did this information reach a 2b2t streamer who only broadcasts on Saturdays and has a small number of fans? Because the co-founder of the Bitcoin NFT project INK @Brunno_UTXO went to this live broadcast room to pass on this information, and he also told @Rhynohowl1 in the live broadcast room that he was willing to spend 1 BTC to buy "cactusseeds" immediately.

This is also the direct source of the general belief that @Rhynohowl1 earned 1 BTC directly after the event. In fact, @Rhynohowl1 listed the inscription on Magic Eden at a price of 10 BTC, and the highest offer received so far is 0.33 BTC. He listed 10 BTC, probably because Casey said this in his reply:
"10 BTC, or broken"
Another KOL of Ordinals @cbspears also said in his video that he was willing to spend 5 bitcoins to buy "cactusseeds".
Life is full of surprises and accidents. For @Rhynohowl1, it was probably just an ordinary Saturday (Sunday in our time zone) before the incident. He turned on his computer, opened Minecraft, entered the 2b2t server to play, and watched and chatted in riths's Twitch live broadcast room. A sudden message came, and he began to look for the founder of Ordinals & Rune Protocol in the virtual world of Minecraft. When this well-known figure in another virtual world appeared in front of him in a Minecraft image that might not seem special to him, he received 1 BTC.

Since the release of the rune "MEMENTO•MORI", Casey has become more active and made some attempts to promote the rune ecosystem. After the end of this puzzle game, Casey posted a long tweet in the early hours of yesterday morning, saying that he did not want to be like the "chief sales officer" of other ecosystems, who frantically called out one specific coin after another, and hoped to listen to everyone's opinions and have some good ways to help promote the rune and even the Ordinals ecosystem.
After Casey's statement, "MEMENTO•MORI" rose as high as 45%. Rhythm BlockBeats previously introduced this rune (related reading: Ordinals Protocol founder released a new rune, is it in line with expectations?), as a rune released by Casey himself, it once fell below the market value of 10 million US dollars after the casting was completed, which made players even make helpless jokes-Casey is too bad, "not as good" as Vitalik's dog. After Casey's statement, players' views on "MEMENTO•MORI" also warmed up a lot as the price resumed its upward trend.
Will the rune get better? Time will tell. And the story of "earning 1 BTC by playing Minecraft for 1 hour" has not come to an end. Similarly, time will show us how much "cactusseeds" will be sold for as the ecosystem and even Bitcoin develop.
But for now, this story is already exciting enough.
