Chainlink, the industry-standard decentralized computing platform, has announced that it will host its annual flagship conference, SmartCon, in Hong Kong, China, in late October. Following the success of SmartCon 2022 and 2023 in New York and Barcelona, this is Chainlink’s first SmartCon in Asia—the conference will be held at the Kerry Hotel, kicking off with a two-day Hacker House on October 28 and 29, followed by an exciting agenda on multiple stages at the main venue on October 30 and 31.

Integrating DeFi & TradFi

As Chainlink’s flagship conference, SmartCon 2024 focuses on the integration of blockchain and traditional finance, bringing together leading DeFi protocols such as Aave with the world’s largest financial institutions and market infrastructures such as Swift, Euroclear, ANZ, and more. The audience is expected to be divided into 40% Web3, 40% capital markets, and 20% enterprises and blockchain researchers, to discuss industry hot topics such as real-world asset tokenization, stablecoins, cross-chain interoperability, the intersection of AI and blockchain, capital market life cycle changes, and regional digital asset ecology.

Upgraded guest lineup

The SmartCon held in Barcelona last year attracted thousands of participants, including Mr. Chan Ho-lim, Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, Mr. Leung Hon-king, Global Head of Financial Services and Fintech of Invest Hong Kong, and Qian Jiang, Director of Capital Markets and Digital Assets of Swift. This year's SmartCon speaker lineup has been further upgraded.
