BlockBeats News, January 18th, according to official sources, the SEC announced that Genlser Advisory and Office of Public Affairs (OPA) Director Scott Schneider, as well as Acting Enforcement Division Director Sanjay Wadhwa, are set to resign.
Sanjay Wadhwa, it is reported, has been with the SEC for 21 years, serving as Acting Enforcement Division Director since October 2024, and prior to that as Deputy Director of the division since August 2021. During his tenure, Wadhwa oversaw the initiation of over 2,600 enforcement actions, ultimately ordering the disgorgement of ill-gotten gains, prejudgment interest, and civil penalties exceeding $20 billion and returning billions of dollars to harmed investors.
Scott Schneider previously served as Chief Communications Advisor to Chair Gensler and, as OPA Director, led the Commission's external communications strategy, media relations, rulemaking and enforcement communications, digital strategy, SEC.gov updates, and internal communications affairs.
