US Election Update: Philadelphia Official Expects Faster Vote Counting in This Election Compared to 2020

2024-11-05 23:11

BlockBeats News, November 5th, according to CNN, Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein said he believes the counting process during the 2024 election cycle will be faster than in 2020.

Bluestein stated: "We started pre-canvassing mail-in ballots as soon as the polls opened at 7 a.m. this morning, and our counting process will be much faster than in 2020. Many people have already voted in person, so there will be fewer mail-in ballots to count this year compared to 2020. Additionally, Philadelphia has purchased additional equipment this year to help open envelopes faster, and there are more staff than in the past."

BlockBeats Note: During the 2020 election, the Associated Press declared the winner on Election Day four days later at 11:26 a.m. Eastern Time.
