Shill or shilling is slang in the Crypto industry used to refer to promoting a certain Crypto token for one's own benefit. A person who does marketing shilling may be called a shiller. Shillers hope to draw attention to a certain currency through hype, hoping to increase demand and ultimately push up the price of the currency.

Note: Shillers' only motivation is that they will profit from doing so. Shillers (probably some big Vs) use various social media to hype a project. They hold the project’s currency themselves, and the price of the currency will rise as a result. Then they sell most of their positions and leave at a profit. In fact, the word shill comes from an early form of marketing and entertainment, in which shill refers to marketers who work secretly for businesses, pretending to be satisfied customers in order to attract real customers.
